AL-QATIF, Saudi Arabia: Sayedah Fatimah Az-Zahra Al-Batol (a.s.), Mistress of the Women of the World and the beloved daughter of the Chief of Prophets Prophet Muhammad (s.w.) about whom he had said: ‘Fatimah is part of me, he who hurts her hurts me’, was martyred on Jamadi Al-Oulaa 13 according to some traditions while some others say it was Jamadi Ath-Thaniya 3 when she kissed martyrdom.

Mominin mourn Sayedah Fatimah Az-Zahra on both dates across the world by holding majalis al-azaiyah (mourning sittings).

In oil-rich mominin-dominated eastern region of Saudi Arabia, ten-day, week-long and three-day majalis programmes are being held starting from Tuesday April 27 Jamadi Al-Oula 13.

These majalis al-azaiya are being held at different venues including husseiniyah az-Zahra (a.s.) in Al-Qatif, majlis al-Ghadir in Tarot, Masjid al-Kauthar in Safwa, masjid al-Imam al-Hussein (a.s.) in Al-Awamiyah, husseiniyah Qaysoum in Omm Al-Hamam, matam Abo-Zaki in Tarot, husseiniyah omm Moeen in Turkiyah, matam Abi-Dhar in Al-Qatif, masjid al-Imam Al-Hasan (a.s.) in Al-Qatif, husseiniyah Al-Fatimiyah in Al-Awamiyah and husseiniyah Al-Mehdiyah in Al-Awamiyah.
