Tens of thousands marks Imam Al-Baqer (A) martyrdom day at A’immah shrines

AL-KADHIMIYAH, Iraq: Fifth infallible descendant of
Prophet Muhammad (S) Al-Imam Muhammad Al-Baqer (AS) was martyred on
seventh day of Dhul-hijjah year 114 in the holy city of Medinah by
poison at the hands of Hashham bin Abdul-Malik.
His martyrdom anniversary fell this year in Iraq on Tuesday October
23. The day was observed with due reverence throughout the country.
Tens of thousands of mourners gathered at the holy
shrines of Al-Imam Ali in Najaf, Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS) and Al-Abbas
(AS) in Karbala, and Al-Imamain Al-Jawwadain (AS) in Al-Kadhimiyah to
commemorate the sad occasion. Mawakeb (processions) also marched
through the shrines.
Majalis were also held at the offices of Marajay and Ayaat attended by
large numbers of mourners.
