Pakistan: Grand processions to mourn Holy Prophet (PBUH) & Imam Hasan (AS)

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Grand majalis-e-aza and matmi processions were held across Pakistan to mark the demise of Holy Prophet (Pbuh) and martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Imam Hassan Mujtaba (a.s.) on Safar 28. Pakistanis observed the occasion as ‘Week of Mourning’ as 'Hafta e Mustafa (Pbuh) o Mujtaba (as)' on the call of Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Moosavi.

On Safar 28, a main procession was taken out from Aza Khana Karam Hussain Shah Rawalpindi under auspices Syed Qasim Ali Shah. Thousands of mourners performed Zanjeer Zani and Qama Zani during procession at Chour Chowk. Procession culminated at Darbar Hazrat Shah Piyara Westridge.

In Lahore, largest procession was taken out from Mochi gate. Touching through its routes i.e. Mochi gate, Akbari Mandi, Chowk masjid Wazir Khan, Mohala Chehal Bibiaan it returned to Mochi gate and ended there. Lahore’s famous dirge-chanting groups offered condolence to Makhdooma e Kainaat Syeda Zahra (SA) on the martyrdom of her son Hassan (AS).
