History tells that after martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) along with his 72 loyal companions in the hot plain of Karbala some 1,400 years ago, Omar bin Sa’ad (LA) ordered to burn down the tents wherein there were women and children of Hussein (AS).

That was the worst oppression carried out against the progeny of Holy Prophet (AS), and these scenes never escaped from the mind of Imam Sajjad Zain-ul Abideen (AS) who says “By God … I remember my aunts and sisters running on the Day of Taff from one tent to the other … and the proclaimer of the people (yazidi army) proclaiming: ‘burn down houses of oppressors’ (in reference to the houses of progeny of holy Prophet (SAW)”.

After torching their tents, the Yazidi army took the chaste ladies and children of holy family of Holy Prophet Hazret Muhammad (SAW) as captives, seated on bare back of the camels, tied in ropes; this Holy Imam, though sick, was put in heavy tight chains with weighty fixed iron rings round his neck and his ankles, and was made to walk barefooted on the thorny burning plains from Karbala to Kufa and to Syria.

Addresses of Hazret Sayyedah Zainab (AS) and Hazret Imam Sajjad (AS) in bazaars of Syria, and courts of Yazid (LA) and Ibn-e-Zead (LA) shattered the foundations of Yazidi palaces. They, on every point, told the world tragedy of Karbala and thus disseminated the message of Husseiniat.
