Saudis demand US to compensate Lebanon, its victims
By: Abdulali
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: More than 1056 Saudi nationals
belonging to all scholls of thought including religious
scholars, intellectuals, clerics, journalists, artists and
thinkers have handed over a letter to US consulate demanding
from the United States to immediately stop aggression in
Lebanon.
Text of the letter is as follows:
In the name of Allah, the compassionating, the compassionate.
Mr. George W. Bush, President of the United States of America
In the era of dialogue among civilizations when the whole
world is looking for stability and world peace, it came as a
shock to the people of the world to see the repeated positions
of your government on the Israeli ongoing barbaric and
unjustified attacks on the people of Palestine and Lebanon.
Israel keeps on targeting the unarmed civilians, women,
children and the infirm through continuous, systematized and
destructive campaigns intended to destroy the infrastructure
in the cities, villages and secured towns of Lebanon and
Palestine; the most recent was Qana the 2nd where the victims
were mostly women and children. We do not know when they will
end these crimes.
The positions of your country came very contradictory with
your efforts to improve its image in the world when you
rejected the cease-fire draft resolution of the United Nations
in the first days of the aggression. Then, Secretary of State
Ms. Condoleezza Rice persisted in rejecting the discussion or
approval of the cease-fire in Rome Conference.
We are also shocked by your continuous justification of the
everyday Israeli crimes in Lebanon and your constant attempts
to give Tel Aviv an opportunity after another by the direct
military and political support to complete the task that
Israel has not achieved and will not be able to achieve as
announced by the military analysts in Israel and the U.S.A.
Mr. Bush
Your negative positions in the United Nations and your
persistence to stand against the resolution of the cease-fire
make us hold you responsible for the continuous destruction
and killing in Lebanon and Palestine, thus compensating
Lebanon and the victims financially and morally is your
responsibility. We call on you to work hard for an immediate
cease-fire.
Scholars and intellectuals from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

"Knowledge is
better than wealth because it protects you while you have to
guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the
more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you
get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but
what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE
