HILLA, Iraq: A conference in Iraq on renowned researcher and jurist Al-Allamah Al-Hilli, organized by Shiia heritage committee, brought to light religious and fiqhi (juristic) thinking of the Faqih Al-Hilli.

Dignitaries from across the country, researchers, scholars, university professors, students and inhabitants of Hilla attended the gathering which urged to hold similar thoughtful confabs so that the sons of Iraq could know about their scholars and intellectuals coming out of cave of ignorance.

Al-Hasan bin Yousaf bin (Zaynoddin) Ali bin Muhammad bin Motahher titled as Sheikh (Jamaloddin Abo-Mansour) known as (Al-Allamah Al-Hilli) and (Ayatullah), who became mojtahed at the tender age of 8 years, was born on 28 Ramadan 648 AH in Al-Hillah and died on 21 Moharram 726 AH.

His father Sadid-oddin Yousaf bin Motahher Al-Mahalli, one of grand scholars of his time, was counted among the most knowledgeable man in fiqh and usool in his time.
