ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Daster Khwan or Spread of Hazrat Imam Hasan
bin Ali (AS) was served on Jamadi-us Sani 20 in spiritual ceremonies
across the country like other global parts.

Momineen attended, listened to Mojeza of Hazrat Imam Hasan (AS) and
prayed.
Many items on Imam Hasan (AS)’s sofreh (spread) are traditionally
green, sometimes including the food offered. Those who make a wish to
Hazrat Imam Hasan (AS) are granted their wishes quickly.

A women will make a nazar (mannat/ vow) when she has an important
wish or request to be fulfilled and then she makes a vow with God that
if her wish comes true (hajatt is granted) she will hold a sofreh
ceremony in the name of the imam.
It is then that women are invited to the sofreh. By tradition friends,
family and neighbors are invited to share this event.
The hostess prepares fresh fruit, nuts (dry fruits) and meat for the
sofreh.

It is strongly believed that the food, fruits, nuts at a
sofreh-nazar are blessed, and many while eating it will make a nazar
(wish) themselves so the tradition continues. Also if you help during
such a ceremony it is believed that your own wishes may come true
sooner and better.
