MBC not to air Shia derogatory serial

KUWAIT CITY: Dubai-based Saudi-owned Arab MBC station has announced that it will not air a Kuwaiti serial deemed derogatory to Shia Muslims because of Kuwait authorities’ decision.

The serial entitled "Sins Have A Price" was due to be aired during the holy month of Ramadan.

MBC Chief Walid bin Ibrahim Aal-i-Ibrahim said after his meeting with Kuwait National Security chief Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahd al-Sabah and information minister Abdullah Al-Mahilbi that the channel will respect the Kuwaiti decision.

KUWAIT CITY/Riyadh: The Prime Minister of Kuwait has vowed to try to stop the broadcast of a TV serial deemed derogatory to Shia Muslims.
