RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Syed Mazhar Ali Shah Advocate, Secretary General of Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya Pakistan has strongly condemned the lower level Administration for creating hurdles in Azadari and termed it violation of basic rights and conspiracy aimed at sabotaging the Azadari programmes.

This was stated by him while addressing the office-bearers of the Muharram Committee Azadari Cell in the Central Control Room on Tuesday. He said on one side the government makes appeals for cooperation while creation of hurdle in Azadari by the Administration is going on in some districts, on the other.

Shah said that imposition of ban on entry of Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, peaceful personalities, Ulema and Zakireen in Chakwal is not fair on the part of the DCO. Likewise, he added, similar tactics are being used in other districts where terrorism is being spread in the name of peace creating fear and harassment amongst Azadaran. He said imposing restrictions on Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other big personalities is mere foolishness.

He said the Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Moosavi has stated in the Code of Azadari that imposing of ban on Ulema and Zakireen is not a solution to the problem. However, they should be bound to follow Code of Morality and those who violate it should be taken to task.

The TNFJ Secretary General said the Administration was working to limit Azadari following some particular pointation. He expressed his astonishment that there is no one to stop political rallies and those who are giving calls of jalao-gherao in Muharramul Haram while peaceful people are being teased without any reason.

He said uncalled for restrictions in Muharramul Haram could be challenged in the court of law which would cause harm to the government’s credibility, therefore, he added, the government should get the uncalled for restrictions removed throughout the country and keep a close contact with the real representatives of the recognized schools for restoration of peace.

Shah said that Muharram Control Rooms have not yet been set up in the Ministry of Interior and the Provinces despite inviting government’s attention repeatedly and if it has been done then the headquarters of the Maktab-e-Tashayyo has not been informed about the development.

He said Azadari programmes would continue till 8th Rabiul Awwal, therefore, the government should make all necessary arrangements by implementing the Moosavi’s Code of Azadari.

He called upon Azadars to organize Majalis and take Azadari processions without any fear following the Code of Azadari and pay Ajr-e-Risalat.
