Majalis & Mawakib mark Rajab 25 in Damascus

DAMASCUS, Syria: Commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Al-Imam Musa bin Jafar Al-Kazim (AS), Majalis-ul-Aza were held and mourning processions were taken forth in the holy city of Damascus which is home to the holy shrine of Sayyed-ul-Awsiya Al-Imam Ali (AS)’s daughter Sayyedah Zainab (SA).

Black mourning banners were hanged in all hussainiyaat where grand Majalis took place attended by throngs of mourners. The processions brought forth from different hussainiyaat were terminated on reaching the holy mausoleum.

A majlis-ul-aza was held at hussainiyah Hawzah Ilmiyah Zainabiyah on the night of martyrdom anniversary. Speakers highlighted the pious seerah of Al-Imam Al-Kazim (AS) who remained in prison for 14 years by cruelest Abbasid rulers and dictators due to their enmity with the Ahlul Bayt of the Prophet Muhammad (saww).

Following the majlis, a mawkab azaiyah (mourning procession) was taken out which headed towards the holy shrine of Sayyedah Zainab (SA). The participants offered her condolences on the martyrdom of the Imam (AS).
